Purpose Directs and coordinates activities concerned with production of company products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate line lead person.

Essential Job Duties

Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.

Ensures all employees are following customer specifications, GMPs, SOPs, and safety procedures at all times.

Responsible for taking disciplinary action on employees who fail to follow proper procedures.

Manages production‑related communication flow in the plant and coordinates between all departments to ensure products are produced to spec in an efficient manner.

Assists in revising production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure or operating problems.

Oversees the placement and training of new hires.

Oversees the setup and breakdown of production lines to ensure tasks are performed safely, properly, and efficiently.

Evaluates line employee progression through the Pay for Skills program and promotes or demotes when individuals are not meeting the demands.

Consults with maintenance personnel regarding modification of machines and equipment to improve production and quality of products.

Completes all other tasks assigned by management.

Essential Physical Demands Frequently stands, lifts, walks, reaches, stoops, bends over, handles product, smells, listens, speaks and sees to perform the essential job duties.

Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Education and/or Experience High School Diploma (GED) or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions Report to work at assigned time. Ending time will vary based on production requirements for the day. Flexibility in work hours and days is crucial. The temperatures range from 30 to 110 degrees in rooms. Exposure to equipment and machinery that are hazardous. Potential electrical, mechanical, chemical, and heat hazards are also present. The level of noise is high and constant. Floors are damp and slick.

Personal Protective Equipment Hard hats, ear plugs or muffs, frocks, non‑porous steel‑toed boots, hair nets must be worn at all times within the plant. Frocks are to remain in production areas unless they are to be replaced when soiled. Latex gloves must be worn when handling product or contacting sanitary surfaces.
