Quality Inspector Level 3
for 2nd and 3rd shift.
Description The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing in-process inspections across all production areas — both upstairs and downstairs — to ensure product quality standards are consistently met. This role involves verifying work-in-process parts, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, and supporting production teams by identifying and resolving quality issues in real time.
Key Responsibilities
Perform quality inspections across assigned production cells during shift.
Inspect in-process parts for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and overall conformance to specifications.
Use measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, and other precision instruments.
Record inspection results in quality systems, including documentation of any nonconformances.
Communicate quality issues promptly to machine operators, supervisors, and quality leadership.
Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities for identified quality concerns.
Ensure adherence to company and industry quality standards, procedures, and customer requirements.
Maintain inspection tools and equipment in good working condition.
Provide feedback to supervisors regarding recurring issues or trends observed during inspections.
Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the plant.
Willing and able to perform a wide range of quality and inspection tasks as assigned to support production needs across multiple departments.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in quality or manufacturing preferred.
2+ years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment (CNC machining experience strongly preferred).
Strong knowledge of precision measurement tools and inspection techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.
Detail-oriented with strong documentation and communication skills.
Self-motivated, able to work independently, and manage time efficiently while covering multiple production areas.
Flexible to work assigned shift and overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while moving between upstairs and downstairs production areas.
Frequent lifting and moving of parts and inspection equipment (up to 25 lbs).
Manual dexterity to handle small precision components and instruments.
