Rutgers Neurosurgery has a neurosurgical residency program, an endovascular and skull base fellowship program, and hosts a vast campus community with undergraduate and graduate medical training centers at New Jersey Medical School in Newark, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, and at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Across our campuses, there is a wealth of clinical material with basic and translational research resourcesalongwithopportunitiestotrainneurosurgeryresidents,andtoteachmedicalstudents and fellows. The Department of Neurosurgery is recruiting a full-time Neurosurgeon in the field of Skull Base Neurosurgery to join our distinguished faculty of 18 neurosurgeons and 6 researchers. Thenewfacultymemberwillmanageandbuild uponathrivingacademicdepartmentat the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank. The RWJMS research department is headed by Dr. Detlev Boison, Professor & Vice Chair of Research & Training, and funded by NIH and DOD grants. The following research programs are established within the Department of Neurosurgery: Epilepsy Research, Traumatic Brain Injury, Reynolds Family Spine Research Laboratory, Neuropathic Pain Research, Multiple Sclerosis, Neuroimaging, Neurostimulation, Cancer Research, and Clinical Trials. The candidates will be expected to contribute to clinical and educational activities with an emphasis on mentoring students and trainees.
