The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Pediatrics is seeking an outstanding individual at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join the Pediatric Infectious Disease Division at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Children’s Health.
Candidates should have significant experience and formal training in the field of pediatric infectious diseases and experience in infectious diseases in the immunocompromised host (e.g., transplant recipients, children with malignancies). Clinical responsibilities will include in-patient and ambulatory management of pediatric infectious diseases and multidisciplinary integration with transplant (stem cell and solid organ) and oncology services. The responsibilities will also include the creation of an immunocompromised host service and outpatient service at the newly expanded Children’s Plano Campus. Inpatient and outpatient activities at the Plano campus will include both the immunocompromised host service and the general pediatric infectious diseases service. Independent research support would be ideal, though is not required.
UTSW offers outstanding collaborative research opportunities. Candidates should also be an accomplished teacher in the field. Clinical activities, both inpatient and outpatient, will be conducted at the Children’s Health facility in Dallas, a 480-bed hospital, and Children’s Health facility in Plano. Children’s Health has active programs in oncology, bone marrow and solid organ transplantation.
Applicants must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Texas and be board eligible or certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Disease.
