Foster Grandparent Coordinator

Key Responsibilities Responsible for the recruitment, orientation and training activities for potential AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent volunteers in Boston, Quincy and /or Eastern Middlesex area. Monitor, evaluate and conduct site visits of volunteer stations to ensure quality services are delivered effectively. Secure, maintain and update required forms in volunteer files. Ensure application and criminal history checks on all volunteers are performed prior to service. Ensure required payroll documents are received and processed in a timely manner. Act as liaison between volunteer stations and volunteers working with young children. Translate as needed all Foster Grandparent Program brochures, flyers, training materials, and other relevant information for the volunteers. Assist Program Manager and or Program Director with special projects as needed. Plan pre-service and monthly trainings/ meetings for participating AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent volunteers and provide needed materials. Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and one to three years of related work experience are required. An Associate's Degree in Human Services or a related field is preferred. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Knowledgeable in the needs of the senior citizen population. Ability to work sensitively and effectively with people of diverse cultural backgrounds. Bilingual skill in Spanish is required. Must be able to travel throughout Greater Boston Area. Why Work Here
