Job Overview As a Senior Communications Specialist at Fairview Health Services, you’ll support Ebenezer Management Services and Ebenezer Senior Living and in its delivery of innovative services and programs that aim to inspire each and every resident to discover new passions, reignite old ones, and continue growing as individuals. This hybrid role reports directly to Fairview’s Director of Strategic Communication, with a “dotted line” to Ebenezer’s Director of Marketing and Communications. You’ll bring your creativity and strategic know-how to craft clear, compassionate messaging across internal channels, resident- and family-facing communications, marketing content, media relations and crisis response—and in doing so, become a trusted voice in the world of senior living. About the Position This is a salaried 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) hybrid position so candidates will need to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Twin Cities area. Job Responsibilities Internal Communications Draft and publish a weekly intranet newsletter Coordinate leadership messages and all-staff announcements Support employee-facing change-management and organizational updates Customer Communications Write clear, on-brand letters and FAQs for residents and families Marketing Communications Research, outline, and write blog posts on wellness, lifestyle, and industry trends Craft social media copy in support of the monthly editorial calendar Media Relations Collaborate with Fairview Media Relations on story ideas and media pitches to promote the work and services of Ebenezer Support response to incoming media requests Develop proactive media relations strategies, including developing story ideas, drafting media pitches, preparing spokesperson talking points, conducting outreach to targeted reporters, and staffing media interviews Crisis Communications Assist in development and maintenance of crisis-response message maps and protocols Draft holding statements, talking points for employees and residents, and media advisories Coordinate reviews and approvals with leadership, operations, and legal Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field 5-7 years of professional writing/editing experience (healthcare, senior living, or nonprofit preferred) Exceptional ability to write in a clear, empathetic voice for diverse audiences Strong project-management skills and comfort juggling multiple stakeholders and deadlines Familiarity with Microsoft workflow, social platforms Preferred Qualifications Experience with crisis-management communications or media relations Prior work within integrated health systems or senior living organizations Familiarity with Fairview’s communication platforms and brand standards

Compensation Disclaimer

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
