Overview Heavy Equipment Operator role at JARCCO Construction. Responsibilities Operates construction, excavation, and demolition equipment including excavators, front-end loaders, and skid steers. Loads dump trucks with broken concrete using an excavator or front-end loader. Breaks concrete with an excavator using a hydraulic breaker. Operates machinery used to build and/or demolish bridges, buildings, and highways. Inspects and fuels equipment before beginning shift. Communicates clearly with dispatch and supervisors. Performs routine maintenance checks and reports needed repairs. Performs other related duties as assigned. Heavy equipment required to operate on-site: motor graders, bulldozers, excavators, asphalt pavers, road rollers, skid steer, front-end loader. Qualifications Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities. Excellent mechanical skills. Ability to follow instructions. Proficient in English. Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment and safety standards. Requirements Experience: Construction: 4+ years (Preferred Equipment Operator) General roadway, highway, or heavy civil for 2+ years as Heavy Equipment Operator Education: High school Diploma or GED Equivalent work experience will be considered. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery. Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary. Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time. Valid Colorado Driver’s License with a safe driving record. Ability to analyze problems and create solutions that add value to the client and the company.
