Currently seeking Heavy Equipment Operators for our bridge/roadway project in Catawba County, North Carolina (Hickory). We particularly seek QUALIFIED EXCAVATOR & DOZER OPERATORS. STARTING PAY is competitive and based on skills and experience. Responsibilities Works with and assists in moving and grading dirt, digging ditches and trenches, hoisting material, tools, equipment, and any related work with a bulldozer, backhoe, road grader or front‑end loader. Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or repairs to the supervisor. Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full‑time position. Normal work hours are Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., with time provided for lunch. Overtime and weekend work are frequent, and work may be local or out of town, requiring overnight stays. Travel / Driving Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of‑area and overnight travel may be expected. Driver’s license is required. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Four years’ experience involving the use of medium and heavy equipment. Preferred Education and Experience Valid CDL License.
