Forklift Mechanic

WeatherTech is seeking a well-qualified

Forklift Mechanic

to perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on company battery powered/propane lift trucks.

This position has a starting rate of $30+/hour.

As a Forklift Mechanic, you will Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on company Forklift, scissor lifts, boom lifts, single man lifts, floor scrubbers, batteries, and battery chargers. Utilize specialized tools and equipment to conduct repairs or replacements such as hydraulic lift systems, air tools, power tools, hand tools, etc. Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and perform unscheduled repairs. Maintain part inventory in parts room and on trucks. Maintain vehicle records and track performed services and repairs on all work orders. Keep Work Orders up to date with time, status of equipment and parts used on all tickets. Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives after inspections and repairs. Perform all job functions in compliance with OEM Specs, safety guidelines and company

policies/procedures. Keep all work areas in a clean and orderly condition, clean and maintain equipment/tools and van. Communicate clearly with the Fleet team and building

Managers/Supervisors/Leads. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualified Candidates will Have a high school diploma or equivalent Have a minimum 2 years’ experience maintaining and repairing various mobile equipment (forklifts, floor scrubbers, stock pickers) Possess prior experience maintaining electric forklifts, Raymond or Toyota experience, preferred Have intimate knowledge of the equipment, its capabilities and operational requirements Possess knowledge of hydraulic lift systems, electronic control code and troubleshooting Demonstrate the ability to safely operate all mobile equipment. Possess basic computer skills Have strong verbal and written communication skills Be able to work with very little supervision and have excellent time management skills Travel between multiple buildings required Be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb for eight hours a day as well as lift and push heavy equipment Possess a valid Driver’s License and have a safe driving history Be fluent in English and authorized to work in the United States
