Position Heavy Equipment Operator – Thalle Construction Company, Inc. Overview Thalle Construction Company is excited to announce an open opportunity to expand our team in Belle Glade, FL. We are seeking experienced and motivated candidates to fill multiple Heavy Equipment Operator positions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate various power construction equipment such as dozers, tractors, scrapers, loaders, and motor graders to excavate, move dirt, and grade jobsite. Operate steel‑wheeled, rubber‑tired, vibrator, segmented, or other types of rollers to compact subgrade. Follow all company safety policies and take specific action to avoid other workers, equipment, and potential obstructions. Operate equipment efficiently and follow instructions from on‑site management. Follow all equipment monitoring and maintenance requirements. Move and load material using dozers, excavators, loaders, etc. Be capable and willing to maintain/grease equipment. Be willing to complete manual labor when not operating equipment. Conduct work with 100% integrity and professionalism. Education and Work Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum two (2) years of construction experience. Ability to receive written or oral instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with office and field personnel. Commitment to contributing to a culture of safety and looking out for oneself and others. Physical Requirements Perform physical activities requiring significant use of arms and legs, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Work long shifts with non‑standard break times. Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements. Good hand‑eye coordination and quick reaction times. Ability to work in confined or enclosed spaces. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and safety‑toed boots. Ability to walk moderate distances to reach work area (½ mile or more). Ability to enter the cab of a vehicle that is 3.5 feet (or more) off the ground. Ability to sit in the operator’s seat of equipment and safely reach all pedals, switches, levers, and buttons required to operate the equipment. Ability to maintain an adequate field of vision of all instruments, gauges, warning lights, and mirrors if authorized for the equipment. Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other standards. Ability to talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone.
