General Function: Administer anesthetic agents under the supervision and direction of the Anesthesiologist within the ASA Guidelines for Ethical Practice of Anesthesiology and Policies and Procedures of WCCH. Case types include but are not limited to General Surgery, OB/GYN, ENT, Pediatric Dental, Orthopedic, Urology, Podiatry and Gastroenterology/Endoscopy.
Educational Requirements
Graduate from a nurse anesthesia educational program that meets the standards of the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs or of such other accreditation organization as may be designated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid.
Certified as a nurse anesthetist by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
Hold current state licensure as a registered nurse. Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in the State of Louisiana by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
