Join us. Do work that matters! MobilizeGreen is seeking 1 Program Coordinator to join our residential/on‑site Youth Conservation Programs (YCP) team in the Spring and Summer of 2025. As a Coordinator, you must be committed to the organization’s mission, our participant’s career success, and our partner’s project goals. In this role, you will serve as a key contact, supervisor, and administrator for a flagship mentorship program and partnership. The program will take place for one week in Northern Minnesota and travel will be required. You will help build a community of mentors, high‑school students, and local environmentalists who live, learn, and work together for a portion of the Summer.

The On‑Site mentorship program will be a 5‑day field‑based experience focused on individual‑student development. Mentors will travel to a USFS host site for 5 days to live and work next to the students, MobilizeGreen crew leaders, and Forest Service staff.
During this time, mentors will complete activities with 1‑2 students, assist on land management projects, participate in recreational trips, and advise students on small projects with the goal of creating environmental stewards and future leaders. The Program Coordinator will support these activities by ensuring that activities, meals, basecamp, reporting, and travel logistics run smoothly for the adult mentors. The Program Coordinator also represents MobilizeGreen on‑site and coordinates logistics with local partners throughout the project.
Position Abstract: This role will be focused on working with a liaison in a partner organization to enroll and organize the participation of 8‑16 adult mentors in the program. The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing the logistical and educational components of this program, including but not limited to handling administrative paperwork, arranging presentations and activities, food and supply purchasing, arranging the set up and transportation of equipment, communicating with MobilizeGreen and other partners, and more.
Housing: The YCP mentorship program will be based out of Northern Minnesota in a cabin/lodge setting. The Program Coordinator will be provided housing for the duration of the program, as well as set‑up and take‑down days immediately before and after.
Term: 16 weeks total, March‑May completed Remotely or in Washington, DC; June on‑site at a National Forest. Exact start and end dates are flexible.
March‑May 2025: Supporting mentor onboarding, orientation, and preparation; Plan location‑specific education, recreation, logistics.
Late May: Mentor Training
June: Program implementation
Benefits
$21.50–$25 per hour compensation, based on experience
Lodging and Meals for duration of program
Travel to and from host site. Rental vehicle provided for duration of training and program
Leadership and event planning experience

Wilderness First Aid / CPR certification
Participant Success
Serves as primary contact for mentors, leading communications, and providing customer service
Assist in managing mentor travel and communications prior to the program
Assist in hosting virtual orientation sessions and training prior to program start
Helps administer the enrollment process for mentors and ensure all documents are received and background checks are cleared in a timely manner
Serve as site liaison with local partners to coordinate all logistical and operational work and how it relates to the project
Manage administrative aspects of member travel, equipment management, program logistics, and budget management
Administers off‑boarding process including collecting final reports/evaluations/metrics from interns and their direct supervisors
Program Management
Shop for supplies for mentors and program attendees
Coordinate meals, cooking, hygiene/chore schedules, and transportation. A cook, housekeeper, and bus service may be contracted to assist in this.
Work with both MobilizeGreen staff and partners to ensure the needs of the mentors are met
Communicate with YCP staff to lead planning, coordination and scheduling of work projects, environmental education lessons, leadership activities and recreational programming
Manage administrative aspects of the program including but not limited to expense logs, required pre‑ and post‑program paperwork, daily work logs, incident reports, equipment inventories, evaluations and final report
Communicate with full‑time MobilizeGreen and partner staff as required and as needed to report and respond to incidents & near misses, and program evaluations.
Provide an emotionally and physically safe environment for members in accordance with MobilizeGreen’s Field Operations Standards
Assists with program Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable ensuring MobilizeGreen is consistently audit ready and has a well‑maintained document and receipt database for purchases
Other duties as assigned
Supplemental Functions
Deliver trainings to mentors as needed
Assist with coordinating a photo/videographer, collecting stories, photos, and videos from program participants. Assist in telling the YCP story
Other administrative duties as assigned
Requirements During Term of Service
Uphold and act in accordance with MobilizeGreen’s Field Operations Standards
Communicate effectively with MobilizeGreen staff, partners, crew members, and crew leaders during program
Participate fully and lead Mentor Orientation and any safety training
Maintain positive, professional relationships with MobilizeGreen staff, partners, crew members, and crew leaders.
Complete all necessary weekly and post‑program paperwork, including an end of program debrief with MobilizeGreen Staff
Complete weekly check‑ins with MobilizeGreen staff
Live on site in communal housing for at least 1 week
Qualifications
Must pass a criminal background check
Must pass a 4‑panel drug screening for PCP, cocaine, opiates, and amphetamines/methamphetamines.
Bachelor’s degree and minimum 4 years related experience in program administration; customer service or similar discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated ability to work in a multi‑generational, cross‑cultural setting
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships
Collaboration and teamwork skills highly prioritized
Strong computer skills and working knowledge of applications and databases such as Google Docs, Microsoft, and CRMs
Ability to learn and comprehend competing fiscal and political factors influencing programs
Knowledge of natural and cultural resource management issues and knowledge of government agency cultures a plus
Ability to work well as part of a team, as well independently
Desire and demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast‑paced environment under pressure
Willingness to travel a minimum of 5% of time to as necessary
Must possess a valid driver’s license, have a clean driving record and be comfortable driving a van on rural roads for long distances
Current First Aid/CPR Certification, or ability to obtain by start date
