Director Business Development – Energy (Oil & Gas) Join Tata Consultancy Services as a Business Development Director in the Energy (Oil & Gas) domain.

Location Houston, TX or Dallas, TX (candidate must be based in Dallas, Texas or Oklahoma).

Job Description The Business Development Director will lead regional strategy to acquire target clients across industries, focusing on companies with US$5Bil+ in annual revenues. The role is a hunter position that leverages TCS’s portfolio of services and collaborates with market development teams, solution sales, and industry SMEs.

Responsibilities

Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.

Generate leads, prospect, and build a robust sales pipeline.

Build strong, long‑term relationships and referrals with senior management at targeted firms.

Collaborate with market development and solution sales teams to tailor offerings that meet customers’ business and technology needs.

Support customers during initial engagement phases and ensure total client satisfaction throughout the relationship lifecycle.

Provide market research and competitive positioning support with presales, marketing, and product development.

Adhere to TCS business development, HR, and ethical policies.

Demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills to establish credibility and trust.

Desired Skills and Experience

Strong hunter profile with a proven track record of selling technology solutions and digital services.

Consistent over‑achievement of client acquisition targets.

12–15 years of experience selling digital & services in the target region, preferably at a leading IT services firm.

Strong local contacts and access to alumni, local associations, and industry associations in the region.

10+ years of lived and sold experience in Texas or Oklahoma.

Ability to manage complex negotiations.

Business development experience with Energy logos is a plus.

Travel Requirements The candidate is expected to travel regularly to regional prospect and customer locations for lead generation, presentations, negotiations, implementation, and ongoing relationship building.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.

Salary Range $180,000 – $220,000
