We are seeking a highly motivated, sales‑driven leader for the position of General Manager. Reporting to the District Sales Manager, you will drive sales, improve processes, develop a team of leaders, and ensure a seamless membership journey for our clients.

Position Purpose Develop a team that delivers exceptional customer experience and hits business objectives.

Responsibilities

Hire, train, schedule, and supervise staff members, including Assistant General Managers and Fitness Consultants.

Communicate goals, expectations, and procedures to staff, ensuring clarity of roles.

Set and achieve membership and revenue goals, track KPIs, and develop strategies for retention and new sign‑ups.

Provide constructive, specific feedback to staff on performance.

Maintain high‑quality customer service by addressing member concerns, managing inquiries, and resolving issues promptly.

Engage members in a friendly manner, actively listening to their needs and providing clear answers.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintain certifications, and implement safety protocols.

Supervise maintenance and cleanliness of the facility, including equipment, locker rooms, and common areas.

Communicate calmly and clearly during emergencies or unexpected disruptions, providing necessary instructions to staff and members.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of sales management experience.

3–4 years of customer service experience.

Prior experience or strong interest in the fitness industry.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong relationship building and influencing abilities across all levels.

Detail oriented, systematic approach to problem solving, and strong time‑management, organizational, and record‑keeping skills.

Proficiency with MS Office.

Requirements

Successful background check.

CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.

Ability to work in a gym setting, move across club floors, and interact with employees, members, and the public.

Proficiency in accessing and operating the company computer system, including preparing documents, entering data, and reading reports.

Ability to bend routinely and repetitively to lift more than 40 lbs.

Pay Range (California) $70,000 — $106,000 USD
