We are seeking a

Lead Power Systems Controls Engineer - Commissioning

for Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems division. This hybrid role requires approximately 50% travel and includes a company vehicle.

Salary range: $93,750 - $137,500 per year. Salary is based on experience, qualifications, and market considerations.

Responsibilities

Program PLCs and HMIs.

Perform firmware and software updates on field‑installed components.

Deploy automatic power transfer schemes (e.g., Main‑Tie‑Main, Main‑Tie‑Gen‑Main, Main‑Gen‑Tie‑Gen‑Main) and generator paralleling switchgear controls applications.

Minimum Qualifications

At least 7 years of experience starting up PLC & relay‑based automatic transfer schemes.

Must reside within a 50‑mile radius of the work locations; active‑duty military members exempt.

Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics.

Certified training in generator control (emergency standby systems, prime power, co‑gen, microgrid, etc.).

Minimum 5 years of customer‑facing technical deployment of automatic power transfer or paralleling switchgear controls projects.

Skills & Success Criteria

Completed required background and drug screenings.

Maintained compliance with company safety program.

Knowledge of best engineering practices for automation and power management systems, PLC programming, HMI software, etc.

Working knowledge of test equipment and diagnostic instruments for automation and power management systems.

Knowledge of troubleshooting, test, and repair techniques for control circuits, logic controllers, and intelligent electronic devices (IEDs).
