This role is categorized as hybrid.**Role:**As a Staff Systems Engineer on the Software Validation team within the AV organization, you will play a critical role in leading the strategy and execution of systems engineering and validation efforts for autonomous vehicle software. You will leverage your experience designing and implementing complex V&V strategies to quickly prototype, gain consensus, and move our programs forward with increased trust and efficiency. Your expertise will guide engineers in defining best practices, driving innovation in systems design, requirements development, and performance verification of autonomous systems.
You will be responsible for shaping the future of systems engineering methodologies for AI systems and other ADAS features, architecting solutions that meet the development and testing needs of AI developers, systems engineers, and safety stakeholders. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to define program goals and create actionable roadmaps that drive systems design execution. Define requirements and metrics for validating safe and comfortable autonomous vehicle operations.Combine experience in systems engineering and data analysis to facilitate data driven design, validation, risk analysis, and prioritization decisionsOwn roadmaps for developing long-term and stable requirements, verification/validation, and/or software solutions to advanced problems over multiple product lifecycles**Your Skills & Abilities** 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, robotics, systems analysis, data analysis, statistical analysis, or other related fields Proficient in product decomposition and requirements management including system analysis, requirements authoring, test generation, and other validation activities Strong analytical thinking skills with the ability to interpret data and derive impactful conclusions Ability to adapt and operate under ambiguity, going from quick code prototypes to long-term plans on brief time horizonsExcellent communication skills, capable of switching between high-level and detailed discussions Experience with robotics, autonomous vehicles, vehicle development, or ADAS developmentExperience working with robotics simulation environments Experience with requirements management tools (Jama, DNG, DOORS, etc.) * Proven track record of successful systems engineering for a safety-critical productCompensation:* The expected base compensation for this role is: $157,100 - $241,500. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.* You also need to include general information about potential commissions, if applicable.* **Bonus Potential:** An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.Benefits:* Benefits: GM offers a variety of health and wellbeing benefit programs.
