Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Network Integration Architect with deep expertise in Palo Alto firewall technologies to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable network architectures across our enterprise. This role serves as the technical liaison between IT and business units, driving integration strategies and ensuring robust security postures through advanced firewall configurations and threat prevention capabilities. You’ll define architectural standards, evaluate emerging technologies, and guide cross-functional teams in deploying secure network solutions.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and deployment of Palo Alto firewall solutions across datacenters, cloud environments (AWS, Azure), remote offices, and retail locations.
Define and enforce network security policies using Palo Alto’s Panorama, App-ID, User-ID, and Threat Prevention features.
Oversee firewall rule base optimization, NAT policies, and VPN configurations to support secure connectivity and compliance.
Develop and maintain network architecture standards with a focus on Palo Alto best practices and Zero Trust principles.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to integrate Palo Alto firewalls into broader security frameworks and incident response workflows.
Conduct technical assessments, cost-benefit analyses, and performance evaluations of firewall deployments and network integrations.
Lead strategic initiatives to modernize network infrastructure and enhance security posture using Palo Alto’s advanced capabilities.
Partner with business stakeholders to align network architecture with enterprise goals and regulatory requirements.
Mentor technical staff on Palo Alto technologies and promote continuous improvement in network security operations.
Stay current with Palo Alto product updates, threat intelligence, and industry trends to inform architectural decisions.
Minimum Requirements Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) strongly preferred.
Additional certifications such as Cisco CCNP/CCIE, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, or TOGAF are a plus.
Experience
8+ years of experience in enterprise network architecture, with at least 5 years focused on Palo Alto firewall design, deployment, and management.
Proven track record of implementing Palo Alto firewalls in hybrid environments (on-prem/cloud).
Experience integrating Palo Alto firewalls with SIEM platforms, identity providers, and cloud-native security tools.
Skills
Expert-level understanding of Palo Alto firewall features: App-ID, Content-ID, WildFire, GlobalProtect, and Panorama.
Strong grasp of network protocols (TCP, UDP, BGP, OSPF) and DNS/DHCP architecture.
Skilled in hybrid networking environments and secure cloud connectivity.
Ability to translate business requirements into secure network architecture designs.
Proficient in network troubleshooting, performance tuning, and policy management.
Familiarity with EA frameworks (TOGAF, ITIL), microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
Excellent communication, documentation, and mentoring skills.
Additional Information This role requires occasional lifting (up to 40 pounds), standing, and reaching.
