Overview

Responsible for the efficient day to day operation of the Childbirth Education Program and A Mother’s Place. The incumbent has full understanding of the Services provided in Women’s Services. In cooperation with PSMs, Childbirth Education Coordinator, Lactation Consultants and the Director, coordinates and facilitates activities and programs to ensure seamless provision of service and overall effectiveness and success. This position, on a regular basis, interacts with all YNHH departments and services and with external customers and community services. This position requires exceptional customer service and organizational skills, the ability to work independently and remain professional under a variety of work related conditions. Provides administrative support to the Director of Women’s Services and assistance to the Childbirth Education Coordinator. 1. Office Coordination:
Coordinates and supports all Childbirth Education and A Mother’s Place Administrative Office tasks. Coordinates activities, routine and emergent to ensure appropriate communication, smooth operation and alignment of activities. As relationships are very important to the success of the Childbirth Education Program, coordination and cooperation is essential to ensure the mission and positive image of YNHH. 1.1 Coordinates schedules and instructors for Childbirth Education Program. 2. Information Management:
Independently develops and organizes information, databases, projects and programs in support of ongoing operations of the Childbirth Education Program and A Mother’s Place. 2.1 Develops and maintains relevant statistical files (database-s), reports and correspondence to assist the Childbirth Education Coordinator, Director, and others in the preparation of routine and special projects. 3. Patient Experience:
Works collaboratively with staff, managers, Childbirth Education Instructors and Coordinator to create a fabulous patient experience from inception of pregnancy throughout the post partum period. 3.1 Communicates with patients via phone and in person. Respects differences and treats all customers with the utmost in respect and courtesy. 4. Community:
In support of the Director, arranges periodic meetings with community providers to ensure support of the Childbirth Education Program and A Mother’s Place. Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Graduation from high school supplemented by associate degree or equivalent experience. EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of Five (5) years experience in an administrative secretarial position with experience overseeing the work of others as assigned. LICENSURE:
Certified Breast Fitting Specialist. SPECIAL SKILLS:
Excellent computer skills, with extensive computer experience using Microsoft Word, EXCEL, graphics, Microsoft Office formatting features, Powerpoint and database management software packages. Ability to maintain files and records. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with a variety of people using diplomacy, tact and sensitivity.
