Job Summary The Aerospace Corporation is looking for a Senior Accountant (Financial Reporting Staff III/IV) to join our Financial Reporting department. In this role, you'll focus on preparation and analysis related to corporate financial reporting, incurred cost reporting, benefit plan reporting, and other corporate financial reporting deliverables. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in El Segundo, CA.
What You'll Be Doing
Participates in the preparation of year-end corporate financial statement, monthly internal reporting package, incurred cost claim report, benefit plans financial statements, 5500 reports, debt covenant reports, account reconciliations, and journal entries
Prepares reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
Prepares supporting schedules for requests made by internal and external auditors
Participates in department projects and initiatives; looks for continued department improvements
Assists with tax reporting in collaboration with tax lead accountant as needed
What You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements for the Financial Reporting Staff III:
Three or more years of experience in Accounting, Finance or related field, with a Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or related field
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, People Soft) and MS Excel
Understanding of diverse accounting subject matter and financial reporting requirements
Strong interpersonal, writing and communication skills
In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Financial Reporting Staff IV include:
Six or more years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field with a bachelor's degree; or 4 or more years of progressive experience in Accounting, Finance or related field, with an MBA or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
How You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
CPA and/or public accounting experience
Masters in Accounting or MBA
Experience preparing corporate financial statements including footnotes and related supporting schedules
Demonstrated accounting ability in such areas as performing month-end close activities, preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and audit schedules
Experience preparing Incurred Cost Submission
Experience preparing benefit plan financial statements
Understanding of government contracting regulations (FAR, CAS), overhead rates and different contract types (CPFF, FFP, T&M, etc.)
Experience with data analysis techniques / data analytics
We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
Salary: $84,600 - $160,500 (Pay Basis: Annual)
