Goliath Construction Consulting is seeking an experienced
Electrical Estimator
for a top-tier electrical contractor based in
Chicago, IL . This company has a strong reputation for delivering complex, high-profile projects, including
high-rise commercial buildings ,
entertainment venues , and
tenant improvements
and
data centers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare accurate and comprehensive electrical cost estimates, budgets, and takeoffs.
Review drawings, specifications, RFQs, and addendums to determine full project scope.
Develop conceptual, schematic, design-build, and detailed estimates as required.
Identify value-engineering opportunities that enhance competitiveness.
Solicit, level, and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
Participate in internal bid reviews, risk assessments, and strategy discussions.
Prepare final proposals, bid clarifications, and supporting documentation.
Work closely with Project Managers and leadership to align estimates with company goals.
Coordinate with engineering, preconstruction, field operations, and vendors to ensure estimate accuracy.
Conduct site visits and pre-bid walkthroughs to understand existing conditions.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, GCs, and industry partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of electrical estimating experience within commercial or industrial construction.
Proficiency with estimating software such as
Accubid, ConEst, Trimble, or Bluebeam .
Deep understanding of NEC, electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.
Strong blueprint reading and takeoff skills.
Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational abilities.
