Client Cancellation Policy:
The client may cancel up to 3 shifts per assignment due to census.
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia or compact state)
Minimum 2-3 years of recent ICU nursing experience (Neuro ICU preferred)
Prior travel nursing experience required
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
COVID-19 and Flu vaccination or approved declination Experience in a teaching hospital setting preferred
Charge nurse experience preferred
All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and approved prior to acceptance
No local travelers within 60 miles accepted
ICU Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with neurological, surgical, and medical diagnoses in the Neuro ICU
Operate advanced clinical equipment: vital signs monitors, glucometers, SCDs, bladder scanners, vein finders, remote telemetry, wound vacs, IV pumps, pulse oximeters, chest tubes, tube feeding pumps, and oxygen delivery devices
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including mentoring students and new hires
Float to other hospital units as needed (travel RNs float first per policy)
Demonstrate leadership and mentoring skills in a dynamic clinical environment
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital protocols and patient safety standards
