Job Description Cedars‑Sinai Health System seeks a collaborative and strategic leader to serve as chair of the Department of Imaging. The chair will oversee innovation, clinical care, research, education and administration. The role reports to the Executive Vice President, Medicine and Health Sciences and Dean of the Medical Faculty, and the Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Cedars‑Sinai Medical Center.

Responsibilities

Define the department’s mission, strategic direction and research agenda; support grant acquisition.

Provide leadership for clinical programs and implementation of cutting‑edge imaging services.

Supervise residency and fellowship programs and oversee training and education.

Manage the department budget, ensuring grant, legislative and institutional compliance.

Lead recruitment, retention, and professional development of physicians and staff.

Drive quality improvement, safety, risk management and regulatory compliance.

Coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration across Cedars‑Sinai and other service lines.

Represent Imaging at executive meetings and in institutional committees.

Academic & Teaching

Lead growth and quality of residency and fellowship training; maintain teaching standards.

Develop continuing educational opportunities for the department's medical and professional staff.

Research

Create strategic research vision; oversee research activities and scholarly output.

Secure external funding and foster collaborations.

Ideal Experience

Radiology academic leader with board certification, award‑winning research and grant success.

Experience as division chief, vice‑chair, or chair in a medical imaging department.

Track record in developing academic leaders and diverse staffing.

Strong business acumen and experience managing departmental budgets.

Proven commitment to quality improvement and patient safety.

Minimum Requirements

Medical Degree from an accredited medical school.

American Board Certification in Radiology.

Unrestricted California license.

Membership in Cedars‑Sinai Medical Staff and Fellows/Faculty service.

Peer‑reviewed publication record and ability to serve as principal investigator.

Appointment to Cedars‑Sinai Professorial Series.

Leadership skills, collaborative vision, ethical practice, and commitment to multidisciplinary care.

Experience in continuous quality improvement and financial management.

Compensation Competitive total compensation: Total cash compensation range $900,000–$1,040,000, plus benefits and incentive programs.
