The Georgetown Law Human Rights Institute (HRI) seeks a
Dash‑Muse Teaching Fellow
for a two‑year appointment beginning July 2026. The role is tailored for a Georgetown Law J.D. or LL.M. graduate with human‑rights experience, an interest in teaching, and a commitment to a career in human rights.

Responsibilities
Develop, teach, and supervise the year‑long Human Rights Advocacy in Action Practicum, collaborating with human‑rights NGOs to advance domestic or international human rights.
Travel with HRI faculty during Week One in January for on‑ground fact‑finding or fieldwork.
Collaborate with HRI leadership on Institute programs and events, including:
Developing and teaching the 1L Human Rights Associates Program
Organizing human‑rights conferences and events, including the annual Samuel Dash Conference on Human Rights
Providing academic and career advice to students interested in human rights
Supporting the campus human‑rights community and engaging with the Institute’s alumni network
Maintaining strong ties to human‑rights practitioners
Supporting the Institute’s efforts to create human‑rights fellowship opportunities for graduating students
Assist in the development of clinical teaching curriculum and audit regular law school courses during the first year.
Other duties as determined by background, interests, and Institute needs.
Compensation and Benefits
Annual salary: $70,000 in Year 1; $75,000 in Year 2
Full LL.M. tuition and fees covered during the two‑year term
Health and dental benefits provided
Upon successful completion, awarded an LL.M. degree in Advocacy
Opportunities for graduate study through a year‑long seminar on clinical pedagogy, taught by Georgetown clinical faculty
Qualifications
J.D. or LL.M. degree from Georgetown Law
Human‑rights litigation and/or advocacy experience
Strong case or project management skills with experience managing client and/or partner relationships
Interest in course design, legal teaching, and student supervision for a project‑based experiential course
Commitment to the success of Georgetown Law students and alumni within the human‑rights community, through academic and career mentoring
Sound judgment and a record of taking initiative
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Strong legal research, writing, and editing skills
Familiarity with Institutional Review Board processes or ethical human‑subjects research principles (preferred)
