Lead Automation Test Engineer
ECS is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Automation Test Engineer to provide IT services and support for hardware, IT systems, applications, and operational technologies that support mission‑critical operations in support of our DOJ FBI Client. The scope of this program is to enhance enterprise IT services and solutions to this FBI component to provide best‑in‑class end‑user support and drive improvements in the operations, management, maintenance and integration of services across multiple networks, systems, and applications to enable and enhance mission operations for law‑enforcement capabilities.
In this role, you will be working at the intersection of traditional IT and specialized scientific and operational technology systems to ensure functionality, performance, availability, and responsiveness of supported IT systems and services. The Lead Automation Test Engineer is responsible for leading and conducting test activities, leading the transition from a manual testing focus to one of automated testing. This position requires an exceptional candidate with advanced quality assurance and software testing experience. We use an Agile Scrum methodology and focus on collaboration with our customers.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of test automation frameworks.
Create, maintain, and execute automated test scripts.
Coordinate with stakeholders and technical teams to identify automation needs.
Review and analyze test automation results to ensure software quality.
Mentor and train junior test engineers on automation best practices.
Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Monitor and improve the efficiency of test automation processes.
Perform testing activities to ensure proper tracking and completion each Sprint and overall release.
Write and revise test‑related management plans and formal test procedures.
Perform functional, exploratory, system, regression, and performance testing.
Required Skills
US citizenship with active Top Secret clearance.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience, or equivalent certifications.
Proven experience in software test automation.
Leadership experience in a testing or QA role.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycles.
Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Effective communication and leadership abilities.
Excellent understanding and experience of test automation frameworks, regression, system, functional and performance testing.
Exceptional collaborative communication skills.
Desired Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience with Agile Development / Scrum framework.
Understanding of test‑driven development and/or behavior‑driven development.
Familiarity with Jira.
