Your Role and Responsibilities Salesforce Professional Services helps customers transform and build what’s next for business – with technology. We seek experienced strategic architect leaders with proven success who can lead our customers to transform business, operations, and technology to drive business outcomes in the Life Sciences Industry. As trusted advisors, architects will cultivate and oversee executive customer relationships and delivery of transformative programs with our most strategic customers, partners, and business delivery leaders. The ideal candidates will bring a diverse IT and/or Management Consulting background and knowledge of industry trends, leveraging this credibility as strategic advisors to our customers, partners, and internal teams across Salesforce.
Support GTM Partners
Actively participate in the pursuit process in support of Services Sellers for our large scale deals, working cross‑functionally within Salesforce to ensure we are selling what we can technically deliver as aligned with the customer’s objectives; work with teams to deliver the pitch, define scope/team and contribute to pricing and contractual arrangements.
Support transformational changes needed to achieve the customers' objectives, informed by deep industry and product expertise.
Ensure the technical architecture is optimized to achieve the most elegant client solution; balance business requirements with technical capabilities to deliver the optimal business outcomes.
Work hand in hand with internal teams (Sales, Success, Technology and Products, TMP and Support) to develop and manage strategy and drive customer adoption initiatives.
Foster Delivery Excellence
Accountable for overseeing the solution and technical architecture of our most complex/large customers.
Serving in a billable capacity as a lead architect along during discovery and development
Identify and mitigate architectural risks associated with projects
Lead the architecture and design of complex Salesforce projects for clients within the Life Sciences industry
Provide architectural guidance and support to project teams, including developers, administrators, and business stakeholders
Advise customers on the overall enterprise architecture, where Salesforce fits in and assist in developing overall architectural strategy
Develop roadmaps and provide strategic guidance to clients to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutions
Conduct in-depth analysis of requirements and assess the feasibility of various solutions
Anticipates, mitigates, and manages risk to Salesforce and the customer.
Assigned in a billable capacity, contributing to an overall Principal Architect team utilization target of 50%.
Internal Growth & Operational Excellence
Effectively lead, inspire, coach, and develop other Salesforce Professional Services team members engaged in the Services delivery through active mentorship.
Develop and strengthen others’ consulting skills, industry knowledge, product knowledge, competency skills, and leadership capabilities.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Keep up-to‑date with the latest Salesforce developments and trends, and bring innovative ideas to the table to help clients stay ahead of the curve.
Participate in the continued development of internal processes, artifacts and methodologies to support service delivery to our most strategic customers. Ensure adherence to tried and tested approved methodologies.
Collaborate across teams (Regulated ProServ, Sales, Success and Product) to build and drive Regulate solution POVs.
Support the product teams across clouds within Salesforce as they build industry specific solutions for the Regulated vertical, ensuring our product understands the needs of our largest enterprise customers as they innovate.
Build an architecture community across our Regulated ProServ team to collaborate on best practices and learn from others delivering large scale programs within the Regulated vertical.
Drive the enablement goals of the architecture community to align to the needs of our customers to ensure we are able to sell and deliver leading with our cross cloud platform expertise within the Regulated vertical.
Requirements
10+ years experience leading enterprise‑level technology transformation programs with Fortune 500 companies (preferably Salesforce enabled transformations)
10+ years of relevant consulting experience in professional services
10+ years of experience leading, managing, coaching, and developing staff
8+ years of experience with Cloud and cloud based technologies (not limited to Salesforce platform but ideally Health Cloud, Life Science CRMs built on the SF platform, Sales and Service Cloud)
8+ years of experience with the Life Sciences industry
8+ years of experience with data architecture
8+ years in System to System integration, distributed architectures, event driven architecture using common ESB platforms like Mulesoft
Bachelor's degree
Experience working with customers to understand and solve their most pressing business challenges
Knowledge of the concepts, practices, procedures, and deliverables associated with system development, implementation, and operational readiness.
Knowledge of solution acumen to work with teams to develop comprehensive operational plans and address technical issues
Significant experience managing C‑suite relationships at customers with a focus on technology and architecture leaders
A team player with experience working on pursuit teams and participating in the proposal development process
Executive‑level communication and presentation skills, written and oral
Travel up to 50%
Significant experience in understanding security, compliance and building scalable and high availability application architectures
Knowledge of concepts in the areas of DevOps, Observability
Significant experience in helping with strategic roadmap planning with customer executives
Knowledge of Design Thinking and human centered change processes
