Role Summary As Sales Director, you will hold a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing and driving the political sales team within SiriusXM Media. The role focuses on growing revenue by developing sales strategies, managing the sales team, and implementing effective techniques to achieve growth targets.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute the outside sales strategy, aligning it with business objectives and market opportunities.
Lead and manage a team of outside sales professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive performance and development.
Collaborate with the sales team to develop comprehensive sales plans, territory plans, account targeting strategies, and sales forecasting.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, including major accounts and strategic partners.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of sales activities, track metrics, analyze data, and recommend improvements.
Continuously assess and optimize the sales process to improve efficiency and effectiveness, including streamlining workflows and implementing sales tools.
Develop and implement sales training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the team.
Conduct market and competitive analysis to stay updated on trends, customer needs, and opportunities for differentiation.
Collaborate closely with internal teams such as marketing, product management, and operations to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
Act as a thought leader, working with the sales marketing team to deliver industry content and attending events to advocate for increased audio spend in the political vertical.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in the media industry with a focus on political advertising.
10+ years of people leadership, proven in building, coaching, and scaling high‑performing teams.
Deep understanding of the advertising landscape, including campaign types, target audiences, and messaging.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as political campaigns, media agencies, and the SiriusXM sales team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Compensation The base salary for this position ranges from $125,000 to $155,000, depending on skills, qualifications, and experience. The role may also be eligible for discretionary short‑term and long‑term incentives.
