Position Summary Responsible for managing, planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive health/dental, environmental safety and nutrition programs for children and their families enrolled in the HS‑EHS program. Works collaboratively with parents, staff, and community partners to deliver health services, maintain records, and interpret complex regulations and medical data.
Essential Functions
Identify community health, dental, emergency and nutrition service resources, and ensure they are listed in the Community Resource Directory.
Help parents secure accessible health care for their families.
Ensure all enrolled children are up to date on age‑appropriate preventive and primary health care within four weeks of entry.
Monitor ongoing health status and needs, administer medications, implement policies, and perform necessary procedures.
Work with parents to arrange medical, dental, or nutritional examinations and immunizations, considering work schedules.
Obtain informed signed parental consent and release of information for all services.
Encourage parental presence and participation, and provide written results of services.
Develop written follow‑up plans and arrange re‑screening, diagnostic testing, examinations, and treatment for children with health issues.
Maintain detailed, accurate, up‑to‑date, confidential records and document all activities.
Submit timely reports of service provision to the Director, PC, Board, and others.
Maintain strict confidentiality of child, family, and staff information.
Qualifications Education:
NHSA Basic Health Services Credential required or to be completed within 9 months of hire; credentials as a registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, or bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, health education, maternal and child health, child nutrition, or health administration with emphasis in early childhood.
Experience:
Experience providing health services to programs serving infants, toddlers, and preschoolers; managing multiple responsibilities under pressure with extensive documentation; working with low‑income and migrant families.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) Preferred.
