Executive Director – Habitat For Humanity Of Kershaw County (HFHKC)
Habitat For Humanity Of Kershaw County (HFHKC) is actively seeking a qualified person to become its new Executive Director. Successful applicants will have the following qualities:
Strong commitment to Habitat’s mission and values.
Basic understanding of residential construction.
Well-developed interpersonal and management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and diverse operations.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Working knowledge of financial reports and budgeting.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office®.
Scope of Work The Executive Director (ED) works under the guidance of and in collaboration with the Board of Directors and its Executive Committee to provide overall leadership and direction for the HFHKC affiliate and the ReStore to ensure effective programs covering residential construction, family support, fund-raising and community engagement. The ED is the public representative of HFHKC and is responsible for building strong relationships with donors, partners, volunteers and community stakeholders as well as state and national arms of the Habitat International organization. The ED also works closely with municipal and county governments to promote the mission of the affiliate.
Compensation This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with occasional weekend and evening work requirements. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A benefits package can be negotiated including eleven (11) paid holidays and two (2) weeks paid vacation.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Cultivate a strong and highly engaged Board of Directors.
In collaboration with the Board, establish goals and guide strategy.
Hire, manage and support HFHKC staff (4 persons).
Perform annual performance reviews of all staff and set personnel policies.
Oversee residential construction and minor repair projects to ensure quality, timeliness and budget compliance.
Develop and monitor performance against budgets in collaboration with the operations manager.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, audits and compliance with all legal requirements.
Develop and implement fund-raising strategies.
Oversee all marketing and communication efforts.
