Position Overview AmCap is looking to fill a full‑time Senior Acquisitions role (exact title to be determined based on relevant work experience) in our Stamford, CT headquarters. This position reports to the CEO and will lead the Acquisitions Department in sourcing, evaluating, financing and executing value‑add and core+ investment opportunities ranging between $15 million to $200 million in size. The role will work with other company leaders on various aspects of the investment process and manage several junior acquisitions members.
Essential Functions
Review new investment opportunities and manage deal pipeline
Deal sourcing (marketed & off‑market deals): attending networking events such as ICSC Conferences, reaching out to owners and brokers, warm/cold calling & emailing
Market/property research, underwriting, structuring, negotiating, financing, legal documentation, due diligence, and closing
Financial analysis and modeling
Manage and evaluate investment due diligence materials
Review and/or negotiate LOIs, PSAs, leases, loan agreements, management agreements, etc.
Prepare investment committee memorandums and present to senior executives
Capital raising and marketing initiatives
Collaboration with property management, leasing, operations, finance & accounting departments
Deal‑related travel required periodically
Qualifications
Minimum of 5‑7 years of successful track record sourcing, underwriting and closing retail real estate acquisitions. Value‑add/opportunistic transaction exposure is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, economics or other related fields; MBA is a plus
Outstanding work ethic and attention to detail
High proficiency with Argus Enterprise and Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint/Word
Strong financial modeling, analytical skills and critical thinking
Ability to thrive and lead in a fast‑paced environment working on multiple projects simultaneously. This position will at times require extended work hours. Ability to move with a sense of urgency
Demonstrated record of leadership and effective project management skills
Demonstrated experience managing client/investor, seller, broker and lender relationships
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong sense of self initiative and resourcefulness
Interest in helping to grow an entrepreneurial business significantly in the coming years
Cordial and positive person who presents well to investors
Compensation
Annual salary range: $200,000‑$250,000
