Position Summary The position is responsible for the financial reporting and accounting for Audax Private Debt based in Boston. The Senior Finance Associate is also a key contributor to the Private Debt valuation process and is responsible for the compliance and control processes related to several Private Debt Funds. The candidate will work closely with the Valuation, Investor Relations, CLO, FP&A, Tax and Senior Debt Deal teams.
The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated and detail‑oriented team player who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and can prioritize and complete projects with precision in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
Preparation and review of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, fund level returns and investor deliverables for various Private Debt funds
Work with the Investor Relations team in preparing fundraising materials and in providing information for investor requests, including fund performance data, fee information and underlying portfolio financial information
Prepare monthly and quarterly MD&A on fund performance for senior management
Contribute to the valuation process for debt, equity and CLO investments
Review fund administrator’s work on various Private Debt funds
Administration of assigned funds: prepare/review, coordinate, calculate capital calls and distributions
Work with the Tax team in preparing quarterly tax estimates as well as year‑end tax allocations
Track and update the portfolio of investments for the various Private Debt funds
Track interest payment receipts across portfolio team
Daily cash management, monitoring, and reconciliation with the bank
Take a lead role with the firm’s outside auditor in preparation/review of year‑end audited financials
Be available to provide timely communication to internal and external stakeholders on projects when required
Responsible for coaching and developing junior team members
Competencies
Advanced GAAP financial reporting experience
Effective communication skills and ability to interact with Senior Management and outside parties
Strong organizational skills
Professional and energetic attitude
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
Self‑starter with ability to work independently and in a team environment
Exemplary leadership skills
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage competing priorities
Demonstrated consistency in meeting deadlines with quality work product
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance with a CPA
5 plus years of experience, including public accounting, preferably focusing on alternative investment asset managers
Extensive experience with Private Equity/Debt valuation
SEC/BDC reporting and CLO experience is a plus
Location Boston, MA. 3 days/week in office. These in office requirements may change based on the needs of the business.
Salary Base salary range: $99,000 - $155,000. Additional annual discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded based on performance. Audax reserves the right to modify this pay range.
