Principal Consultant, Credit & Lending - Private Credit/Investments

$200,000 - $250,000
Role Overview:
JCW has partnered with a leading international bank to hire a VP, Credit Manager for its corporate and commercial credit functions across the U.S. portfolio. This role oversees credit underwriting, portfolio management, and regulatory‑aligned credit governance while partnering closely with business, risk, and executive stakeholders. The VP will also manage and mentor a junior credit team member and may represent Credit on internal committees when delegated.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and recommend credit facilities for corporate and commercial clients, including structured and complex transactions.
Conduct financial analysis, covenant assessment, risk rating, and due diligence, including client calls and site visits.
Manage an assigned credit portfolio as part of the second line of defense.
Monitor client performance, covenant compliance, exceptions, and early warning indicators; elevate issues as needed.
Coach, mentor, and develop junior credit staff to uphold strong credit standards.
Provide delegation coverage for senior credit leadership when assigned.
Participate in internal committees as required and ensure service levels and turnaround times are consistently met.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and at least 8+ years’ experience in credit underwriting or portfolio management within major financial institutions.
Proven experience managing credit risk across corporate or commercial banking products.
Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
Prior experience leading or mentoring junior credit staff is preferred.
