A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROJECT GEOLOGIST / PROJECT ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST As a project‑level professional, you are the driving force behind our business. Your hard work ensures that we deliver for our clients. Under the supervision of the Reno Division Manager, you will:

Prepare and review of work plans, technical documents, and reports for federal, state, and local agencies

Prepare and review of new clientele proposals for federal, state, and private industry

Develop the scope of environmental assessment and remediation projects from our diverse portfolio and manage budgets

Conduct regular field visits to drive project execution and ensure that appropriate technical and health and safety procedures are being followed

Review and approve vendor work proposals and invoices

Write project reports, analyze, and interpret data, and prepare final reports to be submitted for Senior and clients review

Your people skills are essential as you interact regularly with clientele and regulatory agencies. Though you do spend a lot of time visiting job sites and interacting with people, you also complete various administrative responsibilities. Ensuring that clients are happy as well as that all jobs are delivered on time, within the scope, and on budget gives you a great sense of accomplishment!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in geology, hydrogeology, earth or environmental science related field

Certified Environmental Manager (CEM) or Professional Geologist (PG) certification or willingness and ability to obtain in 6 – 12 months (will pay for study and testing materials)

Three or more years of experience in geological assessments, water supply, water treatment, environmental assessments, contaminant investigation, contaminant remediation, storm water management, wastewater treatment, permitting projects, or compliance projects in the public and private sectors

Consulting experience

Strong working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and experience interacting with governmental regulatory agencies

Demonstrated ability to properly manage multiple projects concurrently while ensuring compliance with deliverable timelines

Professional registration/certification or ability to attain within two years of hire

Ability to travel within the western regional US

Technical writing competency and computer literacy

In‑depth experience with service line specific cost projections, budget preparation and tracking

Ability to work individually and as a team member

WORK SCHEDULE AND LOCATION This full‑time project management position typically works Monday – Friday with some traveling, overnight and weekend work. May engage extended two‑ or three‑week projects regarding emergency response (voluntary).
