Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Program Manager I. This position will be located at our Los Angeles, CA facility.
The Program Manager leads the Platform, Site or Business Unit Program Management and Integrated Product Team(s) to drive customer satisfaction, continuous improvement and the life of the program’s financial performance by managing customer programs, contracts, and business relationships.
The Program Manager is responsible for the successful execution of New Product Development (NPD) and Product Support projects, and for issues or opportunities arising from field, manufacturing/test, or supply‑chain challenges. The incumbent will drive the Integrated Product Team(s) to deliver quality, schedule, cost, and contract commitments.
The Los Angeles facility has approximately 280 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacturing and delivery of aerospace hydraulic components, systems, and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $107,812.53 - $158,125.04 a year. Please note that salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What You’ll Do
Manage the budget of all NPD and Product Support related projects/issue/opportunities at the site, ensuring the successful execution within technical, schedule, cost and quality commitments.
Manage the Profit and Loss of the NPD Program(s) and projects.
Champion Integrated Product Team (IPT) leadership across the Program.
Facilitate the implementation of lessons learned from post‑Gate 5/6 NPD programs that have field, manufacturing/test or supply‑chain issues.
Supervise the functional participants assigned to product‑support projects and/or NPD programs or site/Business Unit in a matrix environment.
Provide overall program or site/business unit interface with the customer, improving organizational responsiveness to customer requirements and managing expectations and contractual commitments internally.
Ensure adequate support to the program and project teams by coordinating PM reviews, preparing and publishing PM metrics and reports.
Maintain metrics for the program, including earned value (CPI/SPI), quality, technical performance and delivery through all PROLaunch phases.
Coordinate all risks and requirements of the program into a complete integrated entity by planning, controlling, integrating all projects and measuring all elements to achieve goals.
Manage customer contract, pricing, terms and conditions and contractual flow‑down through the organization.
Establish and negotiate pricing strategies by system/product, market and customer; develop contract negotiation strategies and ensure effective change‑management processes.
Provide periodic program updates (Program Status Report – Green/Yellow/Red) on contractual milestones and risk areas, reporting to business units as well as divisional, group and sector levels.
Play a key role in developing new business proposals and executing the overall program plan.
Seek team input to promote rapid issue resolution; coach and provide feedback on performance indicators.
Coordinate and monitor One Eaton Aerospace program technical personnel across multiple sites.
Required (Basic) Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of two (2) years experience in Program or Project Management.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
Position requires access to export‑controlled information; applicant must be a U.S. person (citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee).
No relocation benefit is offered; candidates must reside within a 50‑mile radius of Los Angeles, CA (Active‑Duty Military Service members are exempt).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
Experience in Aerospace New Product Development (NPD) and Product Support programs.
Project Management Institute (PMI) accreditation (PMP).
Experience in Risk Management and Earned Value Management Systems.
