Responsibilities
Maintain and troubleshoot the facility, terminal equipment and repair basic malfunctions.
Observe and implement resolutions to safety or security concerns in relation to terminal equipment and facility, in cooperation with safety and security personnel.
Examine and maintain facility appearance and signage.
Ensure facility working conditions are clean and safe.
Perform minor electrical repairs (e.g., receptacles, GFI replacement, office lighting).
Handle restroom repairs (minor plumbing), sheetrock repairs, and painting.
Install guarding throughout the facility.
Conduct minor repairs on overhead doors and HVAC troubleshooting.
Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of trash compactor and bailer systems.
Repair dock equipment (e.g., dock levelers, lighting, safety guards).
Charge and maintain forklift batteries, manage charging stations, and clean up acid deposits.
Coordinate with facility and forklift vendors to complete repairs beyond in-house capabilities, including controlling and auditing vendor PM processes.
Work closely with the Safety Committee to install and maintain signs, floor markings, guards, and perform fire extinguisher audits and other safety checklist items.
Maintain spill stations, kits, and perform minor carpentry and furniture assembly projects.
Reassignment to alternate operational areas may occur as business needs require.
Education and/or Experience
High School or equivalent training and/or at least 6 months of related experience (preferred).
Requirements / Skills
Ability to speak and understand English; read and follow oral and written instructions.
Effective verbal and written communication, including email.
Ability to read and interpret gauges, instruments, and dials.
Hands‑on mechanical and electrical skills using non‑power hand tools (hammers, wrenches) and power hand tools.
Basic to intermediate mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair of automation or other equipment.
Capability to assemble or disassemble objects.
Physical Demands
Frequently move throughout the warehouse, including pushing/pulling equipment and transporting parcels weighing up to 50 pounds.
Frequent bending, lifting, kneeling, and pushing/pulling.
Constantly inspect, observe, assess, and maintain safe working conditions.
Exposure to cold, hot, and changing temperatures; medium noise levels; dust, dirt, and variable lighting.
