Summary of Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Electrical Maintenance Technician I role is to provide essential support in the preventative, corrective, and troubleshooting maintenance activities for electrical equipment and systems throughout the facility. This entry-level position is responsible for assisting more experienced technicians in performing basic maintenance tasks, adhering to plant procedures, safety protocols, and operational policies.

Key objectives include accurately following work assignments, approved procedures, and supervisory instructions to carry out maintenance activities safely and efficiently. The Electrical Maintenance Technician I plays a crucial role in maintaining the proper functioning and reliability of electrical systems by conducting routine tasks such as component replacements, cleaning, and inspections.

Education and Experience Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Experience working with electrical systems, tools, or in a maintenance environment

Familiarity with electrical safety practices and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of a vocational or technical training program in electrical maintenance, electronics, or a related field is preferred

Basic knowledge of electrical principles, circuits, and components

Ability to read and interpret basic electrical diagrams and schematics

Understanding of electrical test equipment and tools (e.g., multimeters, voltmeters)

Proficiency in using common hand tools and power tools

EE-98 or EE-98J

EL-1 or EL-1J

Job Details

Work Location, including requirement to perform work at site

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday. 6:30 AM 4:00 PM (Some nights and weekend work may be required). Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed

Travel Required 10%

Security Clearance Requirement CAA access, L or Q

Emergency Response Requirements: Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty is required; including being on-call (24/7) during your designated team duty week

Basic knowledge of instrumentation and control systems (e.g., sensors, transmitters, control valves, PLCs, DCS)

Basic understanding of electrical systems and components

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics

Familiarity with basic hand tools and test equipment (e.g., multimeters, calibrators)

Proficiency in using computers for documentation and data entry

Primary Functions

Entry-level position responsible for assisting with preventative, corrective, and troubleshooting activities on electrical equipment and systems

Performs basic maintenance tasks under close supervision, such as replacing components, cleaning, inspections, and routine testing

Adheres to plant procedures, safety protocols, and policies regarding maintenance, operations, and compliance

Prepares work assignments following approved procedures, work orders, or supervisory instructions

Assists in documenting work performed, maintenance history, and equipment logs accurately and in a timely manner

Maintains a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage and handling of tools and materials

Complies with all safety requirements, including chemical, radiological, and criticality safety

Seeks guidance and training from experienced technicians to develop skills and knowledge

Assists in the preparation of work areas, obtaining necessary tools, materials, and personal protective equipment (PPE)

Performs basic electrical measurements and tests using appropriate tools and instrumentsAssists in the installation, repair, and maintenance of low-voltage electrical systems and components

Supports more experienced technicians in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues

Completes required training and certifications related to electrical safety and maintenance procedures

Maintains a positive attitude and strong work ethic, demonstrating a willingness to learn and improve
