About ExED ExED (www.exed.org) is a nonprofit organization that fosters the development and management of high‑performing charter schools. We believe that every child should have access to high‑quality public education, especially in underserved communities. ExED is the only nonprofit charter back‑office service provider in Southern California, operating in Los Angeles and San Diego, and serves more than 100 schools and 44 000 students.

ExED offers services such as facility financing, CFO services (accounting, budgeting, payroll, compliance, data management) and other back‑office support to help charter schools operate efficiently, build financial plans, and secure affordable facilities, freeing leaders to focus on student achievement.

Position Overview The Data Management Coordinator will deliver ExED’s data management and reporting services by processing and submitting required reports tied to vital funding for a portfolio of schools. A detail‑oriented, highly organized professional who is passionate about public‑education reform is an ideal fit.

Working directly with school leaders and staff, you will help address high‑impact data and funding issues at an early stage in your career, and will receive opportunities for advancement based on success.

Responsibilities

Communicate effectively and collaborate closely with school leaders and staff.

Manage a portfolio of partner schools in a team environment.

Respond promptly to troubleshooting and thought‑partnering requests from schools, asking clarifying questions to understand goals and issues.

Collaborate with internal staff to grow and improve ExED’s support to schools, contributing creative ideas to capture internal knowledge and improve processes.

Apply problem‑solving and critical thinking to ensure successful data reporting.

Access, review, calculate, and prepare student‑attendance, nutrition, and other mandated reports to secure available funding for schools.

Identify issues in student information systems, develop recommendations, and present findings to schools to strengthen their capacity for data, attendance, and nutrition reporting processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

One or more years of high‑volume data entry experience or database management.

Experience with student information systems (PowerSchool, Aeries, Illuminate ISI, SchoolPathways, SEIS, SIRAS, Welligent, etc.) is a plus.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products and the Google environment.

Critical thinking and strong research skills, including the ability to accurately link cause and effect with great attention to detail.

Initiative and perseverance in the face of challenges, with a strong desire to improve and develop.

Organizational ability: planning, managing, multi‑tasking, and prioritizing responsibilities effectively while working independently.

Team player, self‑starter, and excellent interpersonal skills to motivate others.

Interest in education reform and support of school site staff, ensuring public school students receive excellent educational opportunities.

Experience with CALPADS, CNIPS, customer service, teacher credential analysis, and/or school site experience is a plus.

Organized, detail‑oriented, critical thinker.

Mission‑driven; able to manage, retain, and monitor information from multiple and varying sources; capable of simplifying complex requirements for the intended audience.

Problem‑solver individually and with a team; curious and continuously learning to maximize benefits to schools.

Compensation & Benefits Compensation is commensurate with experience; salary range for the Data Management Coordinator role is $53,000 – $67,000. In addition, benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, a 403(b) retirement package, and generous vacation, sick, and holiday allocation.
