Project Manager - Substation and Transmission
Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Manager to lead services projects in the high‑, medium‑, and low‑voltage substation and transmission space. The position will manage a portfolio of HV, MV, LV, underground, and overhead transmission line projects, with potential to own distribution, private network, and BESS projects.

Key Responsibilities
Promote and enforce safety culture.
Respond to RFPs and prepare proposals for services work.
Lead project team during conceptual design and procurement phases of substation projects.
Manage schedule, budget, and scope of services projects.
Interface between the client, external stakeholders, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success.
Work in both corporate and field environments.
Management Responsibilities Act as a Project Manager and manage a project team, with team composition varying by project.
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of relevant industry experience, including high‑, medium‑, and low‑voltage substations.
Experience across multiple phases of project execution.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
Professional engineering license (PE, P.Eng, or equivalent).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search).
Work Environment / Physical Demands
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments.
Typical office and construction environments with exposure to high noise levels, safety hazards (electric currents, scaffolding, high places, chemicals), and atmospheric conditions (dust, fumes, gases).
Physical demands include sitting, walking, talking, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, lifting up to 40 lbs.
