General Contractor, Preconstruction, Construction Management Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented
Staff Accountant
to join our accounting and finance team. The ideal candidate will have
1-3 years of accounting experience
and a strong emphasis on accounts payable, reconciliations, maintaining financial records, and general accounting tasks. Accounts Payable: Process invoices, verify accuracy, statement reconciliations, and ensure timely payments. Expense Reporting: Verify employee expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies. Vendor Payments: Maintain positive relationships with vendors, resolve payment discrepancies, and track outstanding balances. General Ledger Reconciliation: Review transactions, investigate discrepancies, and ensure account accuracy. Month-end & Year-End Closing: Assist in financial close processes, preparing adjusting entries, reconciliations and workpaper documentation. Recordkeeping & Document Controls: Ensure Proper filing and secure storage of financial documentation. Ad hoc projects as assigned, including financial research, reporting and process optimization. Ideal Candidate: Bachelor’s or associate degree in accounting from two-year college or technical school OR 5+ years related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong mathematical, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Anticipate and resolve issues/problems on a proactive basis. Aptitude to be detail-oriented, yet flexible, in a dynamic environment with changing priorities. Possess excellent collaborative skills to work in partnership with the departments. Demonstrate a strong work ethic with the highest degree of honesty and integrity. Highly skilled with MS Office software, particularly Excel, and knowledge of Sage/Timberline strongly preferred; and, Experience in Construction, Real Estate Development or Property Management is a plus. This is a full-time position. A competitive salary will be offered that is commensurate with the Ideal Candidate’s experience.
