Position contingent on funding/award High-Level Description:
The MS Exchange Operations Engineer is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise-level Microsoft Exchange email services within a secure Department of Defense environment. Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day operations of Microsoft Exchange, including mailbox provisioning, mail flow management, and troubleshooting complex messaging issues. Collaborate with IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and Active Directory teams to ensure secure and resilient email services. Implement retention policies, automate tasks with PowerShell, support Outlook Web Access (OWA), and ensure compliance with DoD and IC security controls. Manage integration with Microsoft 365 (M365), develop and apply Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for Exchange and email security, and support cloud migration initiatives. Patching, cross-domain email support, and developing SOPs and technical documentation for sustainment and mission success. Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Security+ CE certification and TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph. 10+ years of IT experience, with 6+ years focused on Microsoft Exchange operations. Expertise in Microsoft Exchange Server 2016/2019 and hybrid Exchange Online environments. Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Outlook Web Access (OWA), GPOs, and email cloud migration. Proficiency with PowerShell scripting. Knowledge of DoD STIGs, RMF, and secure messaging protocols. Experience with email gateways, DNS, ActiveSync, and directory integration. Familiarity with ITIL practices. Additional Details:
