Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Automation and Controls Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced control systems for our industrial processes and equipment. This role involves hands-on engineering, project leadership, and mentoring of junior engineers, while working cross-functionally with manufacturing, operations, and IT teams to drive innovation, efficiency, and reliability across our automation systems. Key Responsibilities: Design, program, and commission PLC/HMI/SCADA/DCS systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, Ignition, Wonderware). Lead automation and controls projects from concept through completion, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery. Develop and maintain electrical control schematics, panel layouts, and BOMs using AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent tools. Oversee installation, startup, troubleshooting, and optimization of automated equipment and processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, OT, operations, maintenance) to integrate new technologies, including IIoT and Industry 4.0 initiatives. Ensure systems comply with relevant safety standards (NFPA 70E, UL 508A, OSHA, etc.). Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians. Drive continuous improvement in system performance, reliability, and documentation. Participate in system validation, FAT/SAT, and risk assessments as required. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Mechatronics, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering. Proficiency in programming PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens TIA Portal, Ignition). Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet). Experience with control panel design and electrical schematics. Proven ability to manage complex automation projects with minimal supervision. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. Preferred: Master’s degree or PE License. Experience with robotics, motion control, and vision systems. Exposure to cybersecurity principles in industrial networks. Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and edge computing.
