Senior Mechanical Engineer

for our Coral Gables, Florida location. Your work environment at EXP You will be part of the Mechanical team working on Hospitality HVAC Design projects in the Miami (Coral Gables), Florida office. Your Responsibilities Prepare and review calculations for loads. Edit specifications to meet project requirements. Develop equipment room sizes during Schematic Design (SD) and Design Development (DD) phases. Select and schedule equipment. Meet with vendors to determine specifications for applications. Coordinate with other disciplines (MEP, F&P, architecture, structural). Respond to RFIs and review submittals accurately. Apply risk management procedures daily to minimize expenses and client exposure. Manage design process within available work hours. Deliver appropriate SD, DD, and Construction Document (CD) level documentation. Work with project coordinators, project managers, and clients to meet project milestones. Manage and deliver revisions and sketches with proper numbering. Edit and develop scope of work narratives. Understand engineering requirements for specific applications within market sectors. Provide relevant existing experience details for projects. Mentor Designer-level staff and oversee their responsibilities. Meet design and quality standards at a responsible charge level. Perform QA/QC reviews of calculations and guide designers. Determine content of drawings and specifications to meet scope. Develop and monitor work plans in collaboration with project managers. Review code compliance with designers. Manage work plans and deliverables across multiple projects within budget. Write studies and reports for systems on projects. Write sequences of operations for HVAC systems. Understand and apply concepts of hydronic, HW, WSHP, and variable/constant flow systems. Design and analyze HVAC equipment such as chillers, boilers, air terminals, and water source heat pumps. Apply knowledge of psychrometrics and total energy concepts. Understand humid climate design risks. The Skills and Knowledge You Bring Bachelor's degree in HVAC or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in building HVAC, plumbing, and piping design. Experience in designing HVAC systems for building projects. Ability to lead a team of designers or engineers. Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain license in Georgia and Florida. Proficiency in REVIT MEP and AutoCAD is highly desirable. About Us
