Fuel Systems Architect – SME McLean, VA JOB DESCRIPTION Fuel is seeking a Systems Architect to work independently within a small team of system engineers responsible for maintaining a homogeneous Windows and Linux-based architecture. The environment includes virtual and bare-metal servers supporting 24x7 operations. The role focuses on Operating System, domain services, application integration, and design, with flexibility to undertake additional duties as needed without reliance on extensive documented procedures. Duties may include:

Managing Linux Operating Systems Provisioning Virtual Desktop environments Working with syslog applications such as Splunk Configuring and supporting virtualized compute environments Designing, configuring, and troubleshooting server backup and replication solutions Implementing and troubleshooting anti-virus platforms like McAfee ePO Skills and Experience:

5+ years designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting domain services (DNS, SMTP, user administration, group policies, certificates) 5+ years managing multi-site Windows Active Directory domains 5+ years implementing and troubleshooting Windows Active Directory group policies, security policies, and user accounts 5+ years providing system administration support for Windows Server machines 5+ years scripting experience (Python, Perl, PowerShell, VBScript, Bash) Experience configuring and troubleshooting web servers (IIS, Apache, Tomcat, Nginx) Configuring and troubleshooting print servers Deploying and configuring server-side applications Creating standard baseline images for workstations and servers Defining resource requirements and standards for desktops Collaborating with systems administrators, storage administrators, application developers, and network engineers to resolve complex issues Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience 10-15 years of relevant experience in network analysis and design Top Secret clearance with FS Polygraph About Fuel Fuel Consulting LLC helps clients create their future.
