Position Summary

Synergy is seeking a

Senior Computer Systems Analyst

to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG) at the Aviation Logistics Center (ALC)-Information Systems Division (ISD). The Senior Computer Systems Analyst will assess user needs and existing processes to design and improve computer systems across various business functions like finance, HR, and accounting. They develop solutions, evaluate software options, and prepare cost-benefit analyses to support decision-making. Strong technical expertise and communication skills are essential for working closely with end users and ensuring successful system implementation. Primary Responsibilities

Analyze science, engineering, business, and data processing problems to implement and improve computer systems. Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. Analyze or recommend commercially available software. Provide analysis and design of business systems for applications such as financial, accounting, human resources, and other enterprise systems. Handle test scripts and service requirements; work closely with end users on project development and implementation. Have a working knowledge of relational database environments, structured analysis, data modeling, information engineering, mathematical model building, sampling, and cost accounting. Specify inputs, design processing steps, and format outputs to meet user needs. Prepare cost-benefit and ROI analyses to support management decisions. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Skills/Qualifications

Expertise in systems analysis, data modeling, structured analysis techniques, and process reengineering methodologies. Strong understanding of Agile development and DevSecOps frameworks. Knowledge of relational databases (Ingres, Oracle, SQL Server) and their role in enterprise applications. Familiarity with API integrations, data transformation, and configuration management. Ability to analyze and ensure system compliance with RMF, Section 508, and Zero Trust. Strong interpersonal, technical writing, and stakeholder engagement skills. Education/Experience Requirements

Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Computer Science, Math, IT, Engineering, or related field; five years of relevant experience may substitute for two years of education. Minimum five years of experience in software engineering, including design, coding, testing, and documentation. Experience with application/system lifecycle development, engineering, programming, or analysis. Experience with databases, network infrastructure, and data processing. At least two years in an Agile DevSecOps environment, with experience using Kubernetes, Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket. Experience supporting federal government enterprise applications is preferred. Clearance and Certifications

U.S. citizenship required; eligible for a Position of Public Trust or DoD Secret Clearance. CompTIA Security+ certification required; additional certifications such as Network+, AWS, Azure, ITIL are a plus. Work Location

Elizabeth City, NC - Hybrid. Must be able to work on-site at least three days a week. Additional Information

Compensation varies based on factors like experience, education, certifications, and location. The posted pay range is a general guideline and not necessarily indicative of actual starting salary. Physical Requirements:

Repetitive motions, grasping, visual and auditory abilities, sitting, and use of IT equipment are required for 90% of the time. Less frequently, candidates may need to stand, lift up to 30 pounds, or work overtime.
