CLP Engineering (CLPE) is seeking an Electrical Tester (Testing Technician I) to join our Testing Team to perform mid/entry level inspections, testing, and maintaining electrical power equipment. Seeking a candidate with 2-4 years of experience who is available for up to 75% travel. Due to the nature of our work as a Federal Contractor, candidates must be a US Citizen. CLPE is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with more than twenty years' experience in electrical utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance and operations through our sister company, City Light & Power. CLPE offers a wide range of power system engineering services to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative, government, industrial, and commercial customers. The Electrical Tester will work with electrical equipment, such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, pad mount transformers/GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and variance of switches both manual and motor operated. Duties And Responsibilities Perform mid/entry level testing of High, Medium, and Low voltage electrical power equipment under supervision. Testing on apparatus includes breakers, transformers, CT's, PT's, cables, and grounding. Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components in a substation. Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and Engineering Personnel in order to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning. Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed. Knowledge and understanding of practical application of electrical theory and hazards in order to perform the job requirements successfully and safely. Other duties as assigned. Skills & Qualifications Associate or Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or related field, or previous military experience preferred. Two to four (2-4) years of relevant testing experience with: Prescence of Voltage Verification, Contact Resistance, Insulation Resistance, Test Equipment Set Up, One-line Drawings. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Available to work overtime hours and travel to the field for extended time periods. Able to work well both independently and as a contributing team member. Other Requirements You must be a US Citizen. You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance. A valid driver's license with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy is required. Travel Up to 75% travel.
