Position Summary Under the supervision of the Youth Program Director, the Assistant Site Coordinator is responsible for assisting with daily onsite supervision, program implementation, and youth/staff development. This position helps maintain a safe and welcoming after-school site, ensures high-quality program exposure to learning opportunities, and fosters positive relationships with program participants and their families. The primary focus is to create an academic and enrichment-based program compliant with YMCA Youth Development Principles and California State Licensing requirements.
After School Program Dates :
Marin ASP sites: must be available to work August 18, 2025 – June 13, 2026
Job Responsibilities Program Support and Leadership
Help plan and run an engaging after-school program supporting learning and fun.
Assist in managing daily schedules, maintaining safety, organization, and a welcoming environment (14:1 student-staff ratio).
Follow program budget, rules, and funding guidelines.
Be present and active during program hours.
Family and School Engagement
Build relationships with families through orientations, events, and regular communication.
Address parent concerns professionally and involve leadership when necessary.
Collaborate with school staff to align efforts and share resources.
Attend monthly school site meetings for planning and evaluation.
Program Operations
Help schedule academic, enrichment, and recreational activities.
Track attendance, snacks, and paperwork (emergency forms, permission slips, etc.).
Ensure shared spaces are used respectfully and kept clean.
Submit timely reports (attendance, snacks, payroll, evaluations).
Follow YMCA, school district, and grant guidelines.
Staff Training and Support
Complete all required YMCA trainings (safety, youth development, etc.).
Attend staff meetings, trainings, and development sessions.
Support hiring, onboarding, and coaching of staff.
Ensure all staff complete required training.
Fundraising and Mission Support
Participate in YMCA fundraising events like the Annual Giving Campaign.
Support youth development and YMCA mission.
Grow professionally in leadership, teamwork, operations, and mentoring.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be 21 years or older.
Bachelor’s degree in child development, Education, Social Services, or related field.
Availability to work Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends.
Minimum of 6 months supervisory experience in youth programs.
CPR and First Aid certified (YMCA-approved; may be completed upon hire).
TB test clearance.
Fingerprint/background check clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD).
Meets Community Care Licensing Teacher Permit level with 12+ ECE units or equivalent (transcripts required).
Bilingual in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or other languages.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Ability to engage in physical activities such as standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Work may occur in indoor classrooms, outdoor recreational areas, and hybrid settings.
Flexibility to adapt to dynamic program needs, including occasional travel between sites.
