Lunar Energy
Job Summary
Lunar Energy is hiring a strategic Hardware Product Manager to drive the scaling and expansion of our residential energy products. You will be instrumental in accelerating the growth of the Lunar System—our best-in-class hardware suite covering solar generation, battery storage, and load control—while also defining and expanding our future hardware offerings for all-electric homes.
Responsibilities
Develop a deep, systematic understanding of residential energy hardware products; translate product knowledge and customer insights into business cases and product requirements.
Work closely with Engineering, Software Product, Program Management, and Commercial teams to effectively guide roadmap prioritization.
Define clear product messaging and market positioning. Effectively communicate value, differentiation, and benefits to all stakeholders (customers, installers, and internal teams), and empower commercial and deployment teams through product training and compelling sales collateral.
Publish and maintain key technical documentation, including datasheets, installation manuals, training content, and independent engineering reports. Update internal and external stakeholders with latest information on product performance, installation, and compliance.
Gather and synthesize industry trends, market intelligence, and competitor benchmarking data. Evaluate customer economics, pain points, and use cases across customer types and geographies to inform go-to-market planning.
Act as the subject matter expert for incentives, sales proposal tools, interconnection requirements, and permitting processes.
Ensure Lunar's hardware is bankable by coordinating with Engineering, test labs, and third-party financiers to secure Approved Vendor List listings in a timely manner.
Collaborate with external partners to seamlessly integrate third-party hardware into the Lunar product ecosystem.
Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience with sales engineering, application engineering, project engineering, or product management in the energy sector.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
Experience developing or commercializing energy products, including solar, energy storage, EV charging, or other power equipment products.
Experience working with hardware OEMs and engineering consultancies on joint R&D, vendor qualification, compliance, and bankability.
Experience managing internal and external stakeholders and communicating with them about product delivery timeline, technical specifications, and value propositions.
Exceptional communication skills with a track record of managing internal and external stakeholders regarding product delivery, technical specifications, and value propositions.
Outstanding analytical skills and the ability to synthesize large qualitative and quantitative information into actionable product insights.
