Job Description We are seeking a
Licensed Senior Civil/Structural Engineer
with 8+ years of experience in a utility consulting company performing design engineering and reviews. The candidate must have a strong educational background in steel and concrete structure design, geotechnical engineering, site design, and foundations. Experience reviewing substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, oil‑spill containment design, retaining walls, masonry control shelters, site design packages, and fire‑walls is required.
The role includes performing design reviews of the aforementioned civil/structural components in support of bid/construction packages for substation projects, leading a senior‑level design team, providing technical guidance to junior staff, and ensuring quality control on design packages. Site visits to client substation facilities and occasional travel for client meetings and industry events are expected.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil‑Structural Engineering – Required
Master of Science (MS) degree in Civil‑Structural Engineering – Preferred
PE Licensure – Required
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and MATHCAD – Required
Experience with STAAD.Pro, RISA 3D, FAD Tools, SAFE, SAG10, and LPILE – Required
Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation – Required
Strong analytical and technical writing skills
Team player with strong client communication skills
Willingness to travel up to 25%
Work Location Framingham, MA (hybrid) or Walled Lake, MI (hybrid)
