About The Team Procurement is part of Stripe Finance and manages the entire buying journey at Stripe. We oversee supplier sourcing and renewal, purchase order approvals, invoice payment, travel and expense programs, contract review, risk assessments, and supplier onboarding. We build a world-class Strategic Sourcing & Category Management team that maximizes value through supplier negotiations, SLA terms, and accountability.

What You’ll Do As an experienced sourcing professional, you’ll partner with technology teams to drive the full strategic sourcing lifecycle—category planning, sourcing strategies, RFx execution, supplier evaluation and selection, contract negotiations and management, continuous improvement. You’ll ensure procurement aligns with operational principles while fostering strong, ethical supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for designated categories, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement, and process efficiencies.

Lead supplier selection, assessment, and contract negotiation processes, ensuring compliance with Stripe policies and risk management protocols.

Conduct market research and analysis to inform category strategies and stay ahead of industry trends.

Champion third‑party risk programs and fiscal initiatives across the company.

Deliver on sourcing goals—including cost savings, spend under management—and implement process enhancements to achieve those goals.

Evaluate existing supplier base and identify rationalization and RFx opportunities in partnership with business teams and Finance.

Collaborate with internal teams to drive enterprise‑level procurement solutions and increase supplier management effectiveness.

Participate in short‑term and long‑term planning and budget development to support strategic business goals.

Develop and execute a roadmap to build and scale an impactful Strategic Sourcing & Category Management function.

Minimum Requirements

8+ years of indirect sourcing, procurement, category management, or related experience.

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic sourcing and category management strategies.

Proven negotiation skills with a track record of significant cost savings and supplier value.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to interpret complex data.

Experience in supplier contracting with understanding of commercial terms and service level agreements.

Leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Successful partnership with cross‑functional stakeholders.

Hybrid Work The role is available in an office or remotely (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office). Remote employees are expected to spend at least 50% of the month in their local office or with users. Remote locations are defined as 35 miles (56 km) from an office. Stripe does not cover relocation costs. We encourage applicants to apply based on their current or intended location.

Pay & Benefits Annual US base salary range: $129,600 – $194,400. Additional benefits may include equity, company bonus or sales commissions, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, and wellness stipends.
