About The Job Google's software engineers develop next‑generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products must handle massive scale and extend far beyond web search. We are hiring engineers who bring fresh ideas across information retrieval, distributed computing, large‑scale system design, networking, data storage, security, AI, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile—our list is constantly growing. As a software engineer you will work on a specific, critical project within the Universal Workload Identity team, helping build secure, reliable, and seamless identity solutions for Google Cloud Platform (GCP), on‑prem, or other cloud providers. The US base salary for this full‑time position ranges from $141,000 to $202,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

2 years of experience with software development in one or more languages (C, C++, Python, or Go), or 1 year with an advanced degree.

2 years of experience developing large‑scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.

2 years of experience with performance, large‑scale system data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.

2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in academic or industry settings.

Experience developing accessible technologies.

Programming experience in C++, Java, or Python.

Experience in code and system health diagnostics, resolution, and software test engineering.

Responsibilities

Write production‑grade product or system development code.

Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select appropriate technologies.

Review code from other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (style guidelines, accurate testing, efficiency).

Contribute to documentation or educational content, updating it based on product/program changes and user feedback.

Triage product or system issues; debug and resolve by analyzing root causes and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
