Job Description This role is field-based, and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those objectives.

Create pre‑call plans using SMART objectives and execute post‑call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance. Handle objections and gain logical calls to action to close sales.

Serve customer needs and expectations, building trusted relationships and achieving win‑win agreements between AbbVie and customers.

Develop and execute a call plan that achieves call metrics, optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers, and maximizes access and sales opportunities.

Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, account dynamics, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in‑field team, brand team, and sales manager.

Differentiated AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers, identify, develop and maintain disease‑state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business‑related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required.

At least five years of industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of three years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma or GED required.

Demonstrates in‑depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge and is recognized as an expert resource by relevant stakeholders; strong business acumen and strategic thinking.

Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills; adapts quickly to customer styles and sells effectively.

Influences others, viewed as a credible role model, builds collaborative partnership with district colleagues and matrix team; leads by example.

Documented success in leadership and support role with increased responsibility at district, region, or organizational levels.

Preferred: Proven sales performance within therapeutic areas. Commercial pharmaceutical experience such as physician/account‑based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency.

Must satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities in the assigned territory.

Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre‑employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.

Driving a personal auto, company vehicle, or powered material handling equipment required.

Key Stakeholders External:

Specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other stakeholders depending on brand plan.

Internal:

In‑field team members, sales management (e.g., DSM), marketing management, training, customer excellence, and brand plan stakeholders.

Additional Information

The compensation range described below reflects the range of possible base pay compensation that AbbVie believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of posting, based on the job grade. Individual compensation will depend on factors including geographic location and may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short‑term incentive programs.
